Happy New Year 2014 from The Fish!

We want to thank everyone for their support of the project, and would like to share with you a teaser that we've released:

Over the past few weeks we have been busy working with Sebastien our motion graphics title designer on an opening animated graphic title design sequence for the film.  Here is a sketch that he drew up during a concept meeting:

At the moment the production has been busy working on filming the rest of the film this January and are hoping to finish principal photography by the end of February.  Here is a photo taken on set during the filming of one of the scene seen in our teaser:

Also, we have launched a second IndieGoGo funding campaign.  Over the next 40 days our goal is to raise $3,000  to cover the remaining costs of filming the movie. We need your help to make this happen.  Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Contribute if you can, and help us make it happen for "The Fish".

So a lot has happened since our last post  We've gone from pre-production to production and the production engine is running full swing. 

We have also gotten all of our principal casting done, pulling in a very talented cast and equally as talented crew. Phil our Production Designer also cast "Sushi" AKA "The Fish" and our director has been busy working with him for his debut role in the film.

So far we have had two shooting days, the first Nov 10th was a wet and rainy day where we shot the Kidnapping scene #27.  We had Tim Zafir from Skysmith and his cinedrone on set for some arial shots.

The second, was this past Sunday Nov. 24th where we shot the interrogation room scenes #1,32,34,36,39,40 & 41. It was a long day, and we didn't quite get all of the shots we wanted, but we left in high spirits with some very good footage!

This weekend we are planning on shooting additional coverage for the interrogation room scenes, and have some special treats in store for next week!

Welcome to the Production Blog for film "The Fish"

Here we will post updates and photos of the film while we move forward with production of The Fish, a short narrative film about the underground world of illegal betta fish fighting in Montreal.

On Sunday Tom our Producer, Phil our Production Designer, and Colin our Director met up to discuss how to proceed with the production after our IndieGoGo campaign.  It was a rainy Autumn day in Montreal, perfect for getting work done, and a lot of work was done!  

Some good news is that Alina our Casting Producer has managed to contact agents, actors, and has found a casting space for auditions!  We will be holding auditions this Thursday and Friday (October 10th & 11th).   We should have our casting done by the 15th, and ready to move forward to shoot in late October!  Stay tuned for more!
